FUNDING ALLOCATION PROCESS
Any school group can apply for funding from the TPC. The aim of this process is to ensure appropriate approval and transparency of all Towerbank Parent Council expenditure.
- Any group wishing to apply for money from the TPC Fund must first approach the school to make sure it’s something which is possible/desirable
- Once the Head Teacher has given the go-ahead that it is something the school would want, the applicants need to get an application form for funding from the school. It has to give details of what the intended funding is for. It should include information such as how many children would benefit, and if it would be a project which the school could continue for years to come.
- The completed form will be considered by the role-bearers who will then put the proposal to the class reps. This can be done on email if there’s not an imminent meeting. But if it’s a larger project, or something which needs further discussion, it can be approved at a Parent Group meeting where people can vote in person.
- Once the proposal has received approval from the Parent Group, the Treasurer will write a cheque for the requested amount. Applicants must provide receipts for all purchases either before or after the receipt of money in order the keep a record of the TPC spending.
- If smaller amounts are required, the TPC has a fund from the council which can be used for one-off ad hoc purchases. (under £300) This would be used for things like refreshments at meetings, or leaving present/flowers for teachers. These need the approval of the office bearers.
